@ophadece...it's funny how that verse is thrown around these days...and in our case here, it doesn't really matter. What did the Lord do that was not written in the Bible and has a direct effect on our Synod setting an appropriate day reading for a …
I'm reposting this @minatasgeel, as I believe you have fallen gravely into error.
"EDIT: I find this part of your post particularly troubling - "First, before anything, I must say that the Coptic Orthodox Church Synod has the right to change any...…
@Archdeacon...I was told about this reading around December second and the arabic reading was shared through many around that time. The church father found out around that time and told me and when I compiled the text in one file, english and arabic…
I am really sick right now, and a little dizzy from meds, but i'll try to comment.
You have misunderstood the reason behind the change. The Synod DID NOT change the readings for the sake of the occasion but because the reading that was set had NOTHI…
Ya Ophadece.....why do you always have an issue against change despite any legit reasons for it?! ya ragel 7aram 3alik
First, before anything, I must say that the Coptic Orthodox Church Synod has the right to change any rite, dogma, and ritual they …
I don't need musical notes--i don't know how to read them. I want the old recording and I am sure all do. Don't worry, we have listened to many old recordings.
For O-oniatk, C Wade3's recording is too old that the words can't be heard. If you have a…

I wonder where did the tune come from. The first paragraph is the fast way for most hymns like Pi-epnevma and Oran enshosho.
Anyone recognizes this way for the second paragraph? i hear a lot of hazzat from h…
I don't see that the church going that far with kiahk praises. And I don't think its possible considering the incarnation and teaching about it with out considering the Virgin whom the Son took flesh from.
About Protestant songs, I don't see any co…
:-) why worry to much?!mcarmichael made up an account after the other one was banned. So all i did is remove the ban from the other and delete the newest one he did......
Your mercies O My Lord is an Adam hymn said on the Adam conclusion of theotokiias. Therefore, it goes is said before neknai o panouti on all Adam days.
@ophadece...no comment
I am not discouraging research but i am disapproving of biased critical thinking that is applied to that research and destroys relations among deacons and the unity of spirit--that is while leaving all the care towards the unity of chanting hymns.
this is a nice one, few people know this, but it is a reference to this fraction: http://tasbeha.org/hymn_library/view/2506 which has the response Amen Alleluia multiple times.
Habibi, nothing is perfect....hymns are just another way for us to be closer to God if we care too much about the hymns instead of their effect on ourselves than all of our services and chanting and learning is in vain.....
for (1) There isn't really a specific order of which parts to say in which tune. I learned the Sherat from Wagdi and he only records one tune for each of the first 3 paragraphs and and than the damg for the rest. M Ibrahim and Gad constructed the re…
@BlindDidymus...:-) so by saying all of this, are you really proving that Purgatory exists, if we consider it to be a state rather than a place?! How about some actual sources of orthodox Fathers rather than your understanding of it?
Instead of deleting this discussion, I am just going to close it to prove a point.
@Mcarmichael is apparently not an orthodox believer and I don't think he cares too much about this idea yet he decided to start an entire discussion about. I guess he…
