I guess i didn't make myself clear enough and didn't read enough of the comments. I agree with Drew when he said that the hymns are NOT to be said in midnight praises. Are-tenthonti was recorded to be chanted for Lent and Kiahk Vespers praises.

I agree with drew. This rule is actually applied to every 8th part of the 4 watos theotokias. I have heard recordings for Thursday and Friday theotokia 8th part.....

HHSIII always recommended NKJV and next NIV. I like NKJV to.....but when it comes to the psalms, the text doesn't match at. Which is understandable due to the sources of the translations.....but if the psalms do not match, you can't really chant it.…

@Bishoy_Labib, the Bible was not published or worked on by any Oriental Orthodox clergymen. To me, to us in the coptic church, it's like any other translation.

Actually, I would like to know if any of our bishops commented about this translation...anyone has any sources? I think that translation might be a good source for the Psalms.

Are you talking about the separations of ALL words, like evolqen and ebol qen for example? or like mabsoota is saying, the division of a word between the lines?

@Katanikhoros...yes Anba Youssef says it n his diocese, I KNOW, i was in Texas Abbey for 2 weeks...but when you ask his grace he says you are not really supposed to say it. It goes hand in hand with the senixar.

@Remnkemi and ophadece, in arabic it would not be 'salam ya odsak abouna Yohanna' but it's 'salam ya ods abouna...' and i would translate that to 'hi reverent father yohanna'

I think the other opinion is the word 'etribi' is taken from 'et-hibi', the word for 'sorrow/sad' in coptic. I believe Albair follows this in his books. can someone tell me if the hori is pronounced an r in any of the coptic dialects?
